Landhotel Haus Waldeck*** Superior

A lovely hotel for people traveling with dogs, set right among nature. The food was excellent, and dog owners have options for enjoying the wellness spa on site.

The accommodation was nice and the food was good. I'd recommend it.

FANTASTIC

Our apartment had a terrace with a little garden, plus a whirlpool outside. Inside, there was a compact kitchenette with a coffee machine and a big bathroom with its own sauna. We loved it and used those features a lot. It’s a really nice resort for dogs and their owners. Everything was buffet style and delicious, and full board also included afternoon cake. Drinks cost extra. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the service was top-notch. There’s an indoor dog training facility a bit of a walk from the hotel, though we didn’t try it. During our visit we may simply have been unlucky: there were many small dogs, and quite a few barked and weren’t very friendly. They were often kept on leads around the hotel, which felt like a shame. We’re used to seeing things handled differently. The small dog pond was muddy and smelled unpleasant, so it wasn’t surprising that it wasn’t busy. Still, that was a pity, since places like this can give dogs a chance to meet and play. We’re used to seeing that work differently. The surrounding area is beautiful for hiking, and a larger, lovely artificial lake is easy to get to, but dogs aren’t allowed there. The price felt rather high for our category, and the services didn’t really seem to justify it. We had a nice time, though there are better alternatives at lower prices.
