Hotel Asemann Planegg

Breakfast was a real highlight, with loads to choose from, tasty food, and plenty of local organic products. The hotel was clean, with friendly service, a large well-equipped room, a comfortable bed, and a bathroom with good equipment too. Great value for money. I'd happily come back when I'm nearby.

The room was clean, and the cleaning staff did a great job. That was the only real positive for me. The TV was locked, so I couldn't turn on English subtitles or cast from my phone. There was no in-room thermostat control, and changing the bathroom water temperature meant using knobs on the wall and getting in and out of the shower. The drain was so slow that I was constantly standing in an inch of water. We changed our flight to leave a day earlier but were still charged for 6 overnights, even though we stayed five. We asked about late checkout to fit the new flight time and were told it would be fine for a small fee, which we accepted. If we'd known that staying beyond the 11 am checkout meant paying for a whole extra night, we would've made sure to leave by 11. Most of the staff were friendly, but Jade at the front desk was unfriendly and unaccommodating, with a permanent scowl. She shouldn't be the first person guests meet. They say breakfast is included, but it really isn't. They're charging you €34. Neither of us ate anywhere near €34 worth of lunchmeat and yogurt. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

I've stayed here once before, and since that first visit, I haven't wanted to book another hotel in the area. This is a family run place, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was almost full, but they still found me a double room at a great price. I had a really enjoyable stay, and the included breakfast was fantastic. If you're lucky, you might even run into Mr Asemann himself!

The staff were excellent and friendly, and breakfast was incredible. The hotel is on a quiet suburban street, just a few minutes on foot from some great, affordable restaurants and the S-Bahn. A great place to stay, especially if you're visiting Munich.
