This was our second stay, and we still think the apartment is very nice. Some things have improved since our December visit, including the separate beds, extra dishes, and the rain shower. The landlord is always reachable by phone and very friendly and helpful if anything goes wrong. This time, though, there wasn’t enough cutlery, only one board, and no kitchen power strip. There was also no dishcloth or tea towel, and the cleaner should check the corners more carefully: we found a juice bottle under the sofa. But these are very minor complaints.

The apartment seemed fine at first, but the bed was badly made. The topper was all crumpled, the sheets were dirty, and there were black marks on top of the duvet cover. It didn’t smell freshly washed, and I felt someone might already have slept in it. The bathroom towel also smelled unwashed. Even though a final cleaning was supposed to have been done, the bin was full, the sink was dirty, and the toilet had heavy grime and limescale built up over weeks. I waited more than an hour for the cleaning company, then moved to a hotel.

The location was excellent, with a supermarket and public transport close by, and the apartment initially seemed fine. But the bed linen smelled musty, the coffee machine was badly scaled, and the bathroom had no sanitary bin. We also couldn’t find any yellow recycling bags. The cleaning seemed incomplete: there was dust and hair under the sofa and bed, and though the floor had been mopped, it felt sticky and turned our socks black, so we had to mop it ourselves. The shower handle came off too, something that should have been caught during the final cleaning.

Check-in and checkout were easy, the Wi-Fi was good, and the bed was adequate. Cleanliness was acceptable, though not perfect. The basic furnishings were fairly complete, but the kitchen only had essentials, with no salt or similar items. There was no oven, mini oven, or extractor hood. The fridge was small, and ice in its freezer compartment barely thawed. Some details were frustrating: the living room floor lamp had a missing bulb, the bathroom light was wobbly, and the TV remote had faulty buttons or nearly dead batteries. We had to turn on the TV itself and change channels through the receiver. Picture and sound were poor. The rules said to leave the apartment broom clean, but there was no broom. For the price, the value wasn’t outstanding.
