We only went to Gastwirtschaft Matsch for dinner, not to stay at the hotel. Our OpenTable booking got us a nice, cozy table, and although the restaurant was busy, our friendly waiter looked after us well. The food was very good. My wife loved the chicken liver, and I liked the Sauerbraten, though it was a little sweet for my taste. We considered dessert but hadn’t been very active that day, so skipped it. The alcohol-free beer was good too. I’d recommend the place.

The food and service from our waiter were excellent. Still, we were surprised to be seated in the basement when there were empty tables in the main hall, since we had expected to sit there. My elderly parents had come to Plauen from out of town, so that was an unpleasant surprise for them.

A handy central base for exploring Plauen and the surrounding area. The staff were helpful and friendly, and both breakfast and dinner were excellent. You can eat inside or in the courtyard.
