The slides were the best part for me, especially the ones you don’t find just anywhere. I rode Gravity Loop 15 times: the drop-in start looks scary, but it’s fast, intense, and the lights make it addictive. Goggles are allowed on every slide, which I appreciated since water hits your face there. Shooting Star has a proper free-fall drop from 22m and good airtime, though the landing can leave your backside sore. Stromforce 1, with its back-mounted wind shield and disco-lit pipe, is a one-of-a-kind blast. I also liked 2Fake Illusion, Cosmic Canyon, Green Kick, Crazy Surfer, Sauerland Surfer and Formel 3 Racer. The Pink Jump wasn’t running because attendance was low. I went on a quiet Monday in mid-June, so there were no waits. The entry fee was about 30€, with free lockers and a wristband for purchases at the snack and pool bars and the newest slide. A new slide always costs 2€ extra. The payment machine didn’t work for me, so extra charges could be paid at the desk on the way out. There’s a lot beyond the slides: a sports pool with a 3m diving tower, a wave pool that comes on often, and a winding current pool that runs when the waves are off. Green Kick is above the wave pool. There are indoor and outdoor relaxation pools with massage jets, plus a pool bar, sauna and outdoor relaxation area included in admission. That area was nearly empty, the pool bar was closed due to low attendance, but the snack bar sold bottled cocktails. The three saunas were nice, and the Aufguss ritual felt professional. The outdoor area and its pool are lovely. There’s another larger sports pool by the slide complex, along with two indoor kids’ play areas and one outside. It’s a medium-sized park, about three-quarters indoors. Most of the place was clean, though I found sand and dirt on the floor in a few pools, including the pool bar and the sports pool on the left. Shooting Star exits outside, and there’s no footwash or shower by the entrance back in, so people walk back with dirty feet. Snack-bar prices seemed fair and the food was standard pool fare. I heard people complain that the menu slideshow on the TVs moved too quickly, making them wait for items to appear again. It’s got something for different kinds of visitors, from sports to relaxing, and the themed wave and current pools are fun. On weekdays it can be very quiet. The price feels somewhere in the middle, and cleanliness in some pools could be better.
