Hotel Schönbuch

My one-star rating is about guest relations, not the room or service on site. I never used either. What bothered me was the lack of consistency and transparency around my cancellation request. My friend and I booked through Booking.com, for April 4-5, using the same non-refundable rate. Their trip and mine were both affected by visa issues. My friend called on April 2 and got a full refund. I called on April 3 under the same conditions and was refused. The hotel said my friend had a flexible rate, which wasn't true. Booking.com and the hotel both passed responsibility back and forth without giving me a straight answer. I was left without a refund. The hotel says goodwill requests are considered case by case, but with no clear criteria it's hard to understand why one guest gets an exception and another doesn't. I was respectful and professional throughout our communications, so references to my tone don't address what happened. Airlines sometimes make exceptions for documented visa refusals too, which shows this is about how customer situations are handled, not simply industry rules. I won't book here again. The different decisions for identical bookings left me concerned about fair treatment.

The views of the countryside and rolling hills gave the event a lovely setting, and the participants enjoyed being there. Hotel Schönbuch also supplied top quality ingredients and equipment for our sessions. We booked the Cook Room at Hotel Schönbuch for the whole Saturday for two culinary and nutrition education sessions. Kat organized everything and was fantastic and fun to work with. She made sure we had what we needed throughout the day, helped clean up and turn the room around between sessions, then took care of the final clean up. We appreciate all the effort the hotel put into making our events successful and look forward to working with them again.

A calm spot with a nice view, and it's close to the town centre. The staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast was tasty, with fresh orange juice available. Rooms come in different styles. Some don't have air conditioning, which could be an issue on hot summer days.

Really good food, and the staff were great. The rooms felt cozy and had awesome views. A great hotel.
