Ferienwohnung am steilen Waldweg

We stopped by for coffee and cake and came away delighted, especially by the friendly, accommodating owners. We had booked the holiday apartment for my mother's visit to Plön, and she felt right at home. It was very clean and tidy, with a lovely view of Schöhsee lake and a really quiet setting. Highly recommended!

The steep road up is worth it for the fantastic lake view. Inside, there's plenty of space, nearly 100 square meters, and comfortable places to sit both indoors and out. The apartment is tastefully furnished and had everything our family with small children needed. There were childproof outlet covers throughout, plus a high chair and travel cot at no extra charge. The kitchen was especially well equipped, with an oven, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, and plenty of dishes and cutlery. The friendly, helpful hosts had clearly paid attention to the details and left excursion brochures. They suggested walking across Prinzeninsel (Prince's Island) or visiting the free Schwentinental Wildlife Park, which has a children's playground. We had a wonderful stay at the apartment in the Königsgehege (King's Enclosure) and felt very comfortable.

That steep drive up never caused us any trouble, since only residents are allowed to use it. After a busy day out, relaxing in the garden and looking at the lake was a real treat. The apartment was lovely, and I liked the furnishings so much I nearly wanted to take some home. The family were kind and very helpful, with excursion ideas and local insider tips. We've already booked for next year!

Breakfast overlooking the lake was a lovely way to start each day of our week at the Königsgehege apartment. The place was in top condition, and the Wi-Fi and LAN both worked perfectly. There are TVs in the living room and bedroom for less sunny days. Fresh rolls and croissants are only about 250 meters away, at the gas station on the main road, and they really are delicious. For outings, there's the Parnassus Tower, Prince's Island, and plenty of lakes. We'd be glad to come back.
