Landhaushotel Hof Wasserkuppe

The staff were so attentive and made sure we had what we needed and felt comfortable. It’s a lovely, homely hotel and I’d definitely recommend it. Just bring your own tea bags if you want a cuppa at night, they provide a kettle but no tea 😉

The area around the hotel is beautiful, and our five-year-old and we felt completely at ease. We were also glad to have a charging station that you can reserve, along with useful digital services like the online guest directory and Wi-Fi. After 20 years in sales and countless hotel stays, I can say that the service and helpfulness here are unlike what I’ve experienced at most places. The rooms are spacious, carefully designed, and have plenty of storage. It’s a family-run place where the personal attention made our stay really pleasant. Five stars don’t feel like enough. A big thank you to the owners!

Breakfast was a real treat, fresh, delicious, and made with care. We especially liked that the egg dishes were cooked to order. The scrambled eggs with crispy bacon were divine! After a busy day, we could unwind in the spa area, and the swimming pool was a great bonus. The whole team was friendly and attentive, and took time to chat and share helpful tips about the area. At this cozy family-run hotel, we felt warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. We had a wonderful stay at the Landhaushotel Hof Wasserkuppe and will definitely come back.

We barely needed the car during our week at Hotel Wasserkuppe in Poppenhausen. The supermarket, restaurants, bakery, butcher, and other places were an easy walk away, and hikes start practically at the door. We could head to the Wasserkuppe, about 10 km away, walk 22 km to the Milseburg, or take a shorter two to three kilometer loop. The spa was in excellent condition, with a steam room, sauna, pool, and whirlpool for relaxing each day. Breakfast suited us perfectly, especially the freshly made eggs in all sorts of styles. Everyone at the hotel was exceptionally friendly, whether offering a tip, having a chat, or simply listening. We felt welcome and very well looked after. Our lovingly furnished room was spotless and had everything we wanted for a relaxing holiday. It was beautiful, with a small hotplate, kettle, plenty of space, a table for four, and a private balcony. You could tell they’d paid attention to the details. We felt at home from the moment we walked in. We enjoyed the stay immensely and will definitely be back.
