Hotel am Luisenplatz

I felt safe walking around the area during the day and evening. There were lots of families enjoying the parks and people eating and drinking outside. The hotel is well placed for Potsdam's parks and sights, with something beautiful to see within a half-hour walk in any direction. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and I could open the windows for fresh air. The breakfast buffet was first rate, as was the food at the restaurant. I'm glad I chose this hotel, and I'd choose it again if I return to Potsdam.

We had dinner there one evening, and it was very good. Breakfast also had plenty of choice. It's a centrally located hotel with good bus and tram connections, opening onto a lovely square. It wasn't too noisy inside or outside.

The beds were super comfortable, and the sauna was big. You have to reserve it, and it could get busy if a lot of guests want to use it, but luckily we had it to ourselves. The hotel was very clean and surprisingly quiet even though our room faced the main street. Service was friendly, though it felt a bit pricey and the decor was dated.

I booked a room and paid just before arriving, after making the reservation one day ahead. I suddenly became ill during the night and asked to cancel, but got nothing back, not even a partial refund or a voucher. I understand this followed the rental rules, but I feel they could have shown me a little respect.
