Hotel Ziegenkrug - Hotel Pritzwalk

The rooms were clean, but unpleasant enough that I just wanted to leave as soon as I could the next day. The entrance and reception were difficult to find, and the whole place smelled of smoke. I’m not usually one to leave bad reviews, but I absolutely wouldn’t recommend staying here, even for one night. It’s simply unacceptable.

The clean beds and towels were about the only good part. The bathroom was dated, with odd yellow lighting, though it did have a large makeup mirror. There weren’t any glasses or cups in there for taking medication. For such a high price, especially without breakfast, the place wasn’t worth it. We stayed for a family celebration, but the ambiance felt uninviting and like a construction site. It also took quite a while to find. I don’t understand the 5.6-star rating on Booking.com. Definitely wouldn’t stay again.

The kitchen ruined my stay. I don’t know how it got into that state, but from the smell it seems to be an ongoing problem. The rooms are modernly furnished, though somewhat worn now, and fair for the price. It’s solid accommodation for tradespeople.

The rooms don’t smell of ashtrays, thankfully, but there’s not much to them beyond a table, two chairs, and a TV. The bed was made up on just one side, so only half of it was usable, and there was only one pillow and blanket. The headboard fabric was torn and its color peeling, which looked disgusting. Finding the place was confusing. I had to ask at the cinema next door, and there was only a faded A4 sheet with the hotel’s name at the arcade entrance. The farther into the building I went, the worse the cold ashtray smell got. Reception is in the arcade basement. All in all, I’d steer clear. Not recommended.
