Breakfast had a good selection, and the staff were great. I’d booked a double room in the Alte Post building, roughly 100m from the main hotel. It was a good size, with a modern shower and en suite, and the price was very competitive. The Alte Post is opposite a little entrance to a lovely park, with the town center and plenty of restaurants just a few minutes’ walk away. There’s also a large supermarket in the same complex as the main hotel. Parking was good, although the main hotel car park entrance slopes and wasn’t quite right for my motorbike. The staff were really helpful and opened extra parking for it by the Alte Post building. Good room, handy location, flexible staff, fair price. What’s not to like?

The walk uphill to breakfast is a bit of a trek when you’re staying away from the hotel. The listing was misleading: there’s no brewery, and food and drinks aren’t available outside breakfast hours.

Our room was a little dated, though breakfast was adequate and the staff were very friendly and courteous. The restaurant and lobby are in the main building of the Hotel Stadt Püttlingen complex, so you have to cross a Lidl parking lot to reach them.
