I had a wonderful, romantic evening in Wuppertal-Dönberg, and I'm grateful for the stay. The Hotel "Am Dönberg Horather Schanze" has direct access to the Greek restaurant "AKROPOLIS", where the atmosphere is lovely and the food is very good. There's even a stairlift for getting up to the hotel after a little too much ouzo. Just kidding, you'd need to check with the hotelier whether it's working, but it could be a great help for people with mobility impairments. I got stuck in Wuppertal on Wednesday, January 7, 2025, because of heavy snowfall, so I contacted the hotel. The hotelier told me it was closed, but said he would still give me a room. I picked it for its beautiful setting, which looks magical in the snow. The room had an 80s style. See pictures. Thanks again. I hope I can stay at "Hotel Horather Schanze" and visit "Restaurant AKROPOLIS" again.

The rooms are bright and clean, and the owner is a very friendly, helpful person who was flexible when I booked the room for longer. The Greek restaurant is excellent, and the service staff are friendly and attentive. The location is good, with good parking options too. There was a bathtub in the bathroom, but no shower. 👍

The food was very good, but it was crowded and noisy. Even with a reservation, we waited about 10 minutes for a table. Service got noticeably worse in the last half hour, and no one checked whether we wanted anything else even though our glasses were empty. Maybe weekdays are better, but I'd hesitate to recommend it at peak times.

The restaurant at the hotel serves delicious food, and the service is friendly. The rooms are clean. I'd say this place is more suited to workers or business stays.
