Fachwerkresidenz Deuterscher Hof

A charming place for a holiday, close to the historic town center.

We came for a short visit with friends and stayed in the ground-floor "Mausefalle". There are several beautifully furnished apartments here, and ours was put together with a lot of care, with everything we needed. It was spotless, and the owner was very nice. The beds are 1.40 m wide and share one mattress, which we found quite soft. You can feel your partner move when they turn over, and the beds aren't ideal for people who are overweight. There's an elevator to the upper-floor rooms. The courtyard is beautiful, and in summer it would be lovely to sit there at the end of the day. The market square is about a 10-minute walk away. Having a private parking spot is a plus, though the lot is about 300m away. On weekends, you might get a spot right outside the house if you're lucky; during the week, parking there is limited to two hours, which is enough to unload your things.

The quiet, slightly tucked-away setting is a big part of the appeal of Fachwerkresidenz Deutscher Hof. Inside, the exposed beams and carefully made details carry the old half-timbered look into the rooms, giving the place a warm, rustic feel. It was also very clean. The hostess made the stay feel personal. She was attentive and welcoming, offered suggestions for the area, and took care with individual needs. With the traditional character, calm location, and thoughtful hospitality, it felt like more than just somewhere to sleep.

We felt right at home in this lovely apartment. The courtyard was a highlight, with several cozy places to sit and thoughtful design. It's right in the city center, but still wonderfully quiet.
