The room was quiet, comfortable, and very clean, with a great view of the lake and just a short walk to the beach. The staff were excellent and knew the area well. At the front desk, the hotel manager made a point of speaking English so my brother, who doesn’t speak German, could understand everything being explained. We absolutely loved our stay, and we’ll definitely come back. 10/10.

Schmiede was a comfortable, no-frills place with all the amenities I needed. Its location made it easy to reach local sights and transport, and the price felt fair for a value-conscious traveler. A straightforward, pleasant stay, and I’d recommend it.

The location is really nice, and the city is lovely. The hotel is close to the Bahnhof, opposite the rhine river, and only about five minutes on foot from the main market. Shops, restaurants, and bars are nearby. Staff were very nice and communicated easily in German and English. The price was reasonable, the room had a Minibar and nearly everything I needed, and breakfast had enough options. My room was in the far corner and had a balcony that was well insulated against cold air. One thing to know: the main entrance closes at 10 pm, and after that you have to use the back door with your room access key card. I’m not sure how someone coming back from a party, drunk and without their card, would get in touch with hotel staff.

The management and staff were very helpful, and the rooms were clean, nice, and compact. The hotel faces famous Lake Constance and is a few minutes’ walk from the mainline train station, with shops, restaurants, and bars close by.

It’s a nice hotel with friendly staff, a very good breakfast, and easy parking. It’s near the Bahnhof for trains to Konstanz. The hotel provides a public transport ticket for some zones near Konstanz, though you can also take the S6. Very pleasant.
