Gasthof Baltram

Dinner here is hearty and hot, though it’s only offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. This small guesthouse also has spotless rooms and stunning views of the German Alps.

We were staying at the B&B across the street and were glad we came over for dinner twice. The portions were generous, the meals were amazing, and the service was great. We loved the beautiful interior, and the views were just as lovely when we sat outside. We’d definitely recommend eating here.

Dinner turned out to be a good idea after all. We came back for it after stopping in earlier for coffee and a small snack, and the cakes and coffee were yummy too. They open from 5:30pm, and I’d suggest booking a table or arriving early.

This mountain area is beautiful, and I’m sure Gasthoff Baltram would have been a great place to stay. We only wanted a room for one night, but they told us none were available, even though the parking lot didn’t look very busy. They sent us across the road to the little farm, Waxenlehen. Katharina Sieger, the owner’s wife, was milking cows but still took the time to welcome us. She was wonderful and very accommodating.
