Hotel Goliath Am Dom

The room on the top floor was spacious and full of character, with lovely views over the rooftops of Regensburg. It had bathrobes and slippers, a heated towel rack, a small fridge and a coffee maker. A kettle for hot water would have been a nice extra. The lobby was beautifully decorated, the staff greeted us warmly, and the Christmas tree was the prettiest I’ve ever seen. This gorgeous boutique hotel is in a perfect Old Town location. Thanks for the green touches, like water in glass containers, and for the delicious breakfast. A memorable stay in beautiful Old Town.

Right in the middle of town, this is a wonderful boutique hotel. The front desk team were friendly and helpful with recommendations. They offer valet parking too, which we Americans love since we’re not used to those narrow streets. I’ll definitely come back.

The hotel’s location deserves five stars, while the room gets one. Goliath is close to the Christmas markets, restaurants and cafés, and the lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The hotel was very clean and the wait staff were hospitable. We stayed one night before our Viking Christmas market cruise on the Danube River. The room cost € 275, which didn’t feel like four-star value. Nobody at the front desk mentioned the rooftop terrace, which I only found out about from another person’s review. I didn’t expect a window from the shower into the bedroom. There’s little privacy when showering or using the restroom, so you may want to think twice about booking if that matters to you. There should also be a low light or nightlight in the bathroom. At night, using the restroom means turning on all the bathroom lights, which shine through the window into the room and wake anyone sleeping. The window in the shower really isn’t necessary.

I’ve stayed here several times. The rooms are elegant, the service is excellent, and breakfast gets your day off to a good start. One of the best hotels in Regensburg, Germany.
