Hotel Lux

The location is great for exploring the city centre, but the street's many cafes and restaurants make it pretty noisy and hard to fall asleep. A few parking spots are right outside, though you can only stay for an hour. The nearest free lot is about five minutes away. That's not a huge distance, but leaving your car and belongings there overnight in a foreign country or unfamiliar city isn't very practical. There was no reception, and you have to call a day ahead to get a code to retrieve your room key from a safe outside the hotel. Apart from one person, there were no staff around. The towels were unclean and there was hair left in the shower. Great location, but quite poor in every other way.

We keep coming back to Hotel Lux, our favorite hotel in the city. The rooms have their own charm, with antique furniture, and the staff are lovely and accommodating. We enjoy the view of this gorgeous city from across the bridge, the beer gardens a stone's throw away, and the Greek restaurant downstairs. Hotel Lux is a treasure!

The location is perfect and breakfast is good, though nothing special. The room was decent, with quite old furniture. The price makes it clear this isn't a five-star hotel. One suggestion for the owner: better curtains would help, since in summer they don't block the morning light.

The room wasn't clean. Hair from previous guests was left in the sink and shower, and there was no shower gel or shampoo, only body lotion. The curtains looked really dirty. There is no reception, and apparently nobody to contact about these problems.
