Jugendherberge Regensburg - Hostel

The receptionist was really friendly and even moved her car so we could park ours. It was nice that she spoke English. The beds were okay but squeaky, and the floor squeaked too. Still, everything was clean, and we had our own room and bathroom. Breakfast buffet was fine, nothing special. There were gloves so everyone could get their breakfast cleanly. We stayed one night and would recommend it.

The staff are friendly, and breakfast was good. The rooms were pretty clean for a DJH. It’s mostly quiet at night, though if your room faces the front of the building, you’ll hear cars passing. Close the window and you’re good.

The people were friendly and helpful, and the service and surroundings were in line with what we expected. As a couple, though, the value for money really didn’t meet our expectations. For one night in a double room with separate beds, a private toilet, and a shower in a different room, we paid 75,80€. That’s comparable to what regular hotels in a similar part of Regensburg charge, based on Booking.com.

The kitchen is excellent, with a balanced diet on offer, and the staff are friendly. It’s a welcoming, clean, well maintained place in a nice building. The walk to the city centre takes about 10 minutes. It will be replaced with a new building in 2021.
