The location was okay, and the woman at reception was friendly, though she seemed a little annoyed. The house itself felt old and neglected, with a strong chlorine smell in the entrance. My room was spacious but very worn, and smelled of old wooden furniture and dusty cushions. The bathroom bin hadn't been emptied before I arrived. The room was dirty and uncared for, and not inviting at all.

Breakfast was poor, and the room floor was dirty. The windows and shutters were broken, and there was no hot or even warm water. In the pool, the grime on the walls around the water was so thick you could scrape it off with your fingernails. The place was a total dump and way overpriced.

The location was the one positive. The housekeepers were helpful, but everything else was a mess. The pool water was brownish, and to reach the second part of the building, where the so-called ski room was, you had to walk through the pool. In that room there was nowhere to hang or store skis, or to warm ski boots. The basement room was a hovel for an outrageous price. Its door was just a kitchen door taped shut. The bathroom sink light didn't work, a third of the glass in the ceiling light was shattered, and dusty cobwebs covered the ceilings. The crib's headboard had been "unprofessionally" sawn off. The ancient furniture was thrown together and dressed up with smelly doilies. The bed linens had moth holes, and the bathrobes had hand-sized holes. Breakfast wasn't any better. The samovar didn't work on the first day because of severe limescale. The rolls were the cheapest "bake-at-home" kind, and the smaller ones, which needed less baking time, were rock hard. The dishes looked like a mismatched collection from the 1960s, the muesli smelled moldy, and there were no napkins on the table.

We have years of wonderful vacation memories from the guesthouse and always felt at home there. These days, though, prices keep rising while it seems corners are being cut everywhere. Gala is charming and hardworking, but she has to handle everything herself, while the owner seems to take no notice since things are going well. Our five stars are for Gala. Christine made many guests happy and was held in high regard. If she had been allowed to stay there for the rest of her life, she would have been much happier. Now she lives in a retirement home. When we're in the area, we always visit her, and we can see how sad she is. This situation was surely never agreed with Maria. The cowshed has been closed for a very long time, too. At least the ugly wooden figure is gone. That wasn't an honor for Maria either. We hope management makes some positive changes soon, and then we'll gladly return. Lara❤ Lars🐶 and Mirjam 🍀
