The two dogs at Haus Illmau are very well-behaved, and the owners are friendly and keen to make sure guests enjoy their stay. Set on the edge of Reit im Winkl, it's a peaceful place to get away from the crowds and a good base for hikes nearby. You can also see the Austrian border, which is easy to reach. A lovely place for a holiday, highly recommended.

The owners are very friendly and helpful, and the upper-floor apartment in this traditional little cottage feels completely private. It's spacious and comfortable for two, with clean, well-kept rooms and everything you need. The balcony is large, with a lovely view when the weather is clear. Though it's above the village in a quiet spot, with no noise from the church bells or main road, you can walk easily to the center. For a longer stay, a divided bin for recycling would be handy, and guests with back problems might prefer firmer mattresses. Still, it's almost perfect and highly recommended.
