Kaiserhof

The hosts were warm and helpful throughout our winter stay, with plenty of good suggestions for things to do nearby. We could walk to a supermarket, and the bread delivery right to our door was a lovely service, thank you! The sauna area was excellent as well. Our apartment looked out toward the main road, but it stayed very quiet, and the whole clean, attractive complex made a great base for activities. We had a relaxing 10 days and would happily come back.

The rooms and grounds were exceptionally clean, which makes the way we were treated on arrival all the more disappointing. Instead of a welcome, the landlord scolded us because my girlfriend's parents were in the car. We'd picked them up at a campsite so we could have coffee in town after checking in, but they got out and stepped onto his property. He told us very rudely that outside guests weren't allowed in the house or on the grounds, and kept grumbling about it. He said this was in the house rules, though if we'd received those before arriving, we would of course have registered our “guests.” He came across as very choleric and unfriendly. We hadn't experienced anything like it. With the other guests he seemed relaxed and chatted pleasantly, just not with us. Maybe he also disliked that we parked in any available spot in his yard. What a shame, because the place itself was so spotless, unlike the landlord.

We had a ground floor apartment spread over two levels, and there was loads of room, including a big dining table that fit plenty of people comfortably. The large terrace wrapped around all sides of the apartment, and families will appreciate the slide and swings right outside the patio door. Inside, the layout and furnishings were excellent, with attractive light wood and a well-equipped kitchen. Everything was immaculately cared for, and the owners were very friendly. The prices still felt fair, too. We'd book at Kaiserhof again anytime.

Reit im Winkl was only a few minutes away on foot, and there's a supermarket right across the street. We spent two wonderful weeks at Kaiserhof in August with our two children, aged 10 and 3. The property is beautifully kept, with two neighboring houses linked by a garden, and it's run by a very friendly family. Mr. Förmer was kind and helpful, always ready for a chat and full of good local suggestions. Our apartment felt practically new, with lovely Bavarian-style furnishings. The kitchen was functional, and the bathroom was spacious and clean. We enjoyed our stay from start to finish, recommend Kaiserhof wholeheartedly, and will definitely return.
