Holiday Inn Express Remscheid by IHG

The breakfast is simple but good, and there's generous parking with quick access to the highway. It's a solid option if you're working nearby and don't want to stay in a big city. My room was very cold, with no way to adjust the temperature. On my first evening the reception staff were rude and didn't take my complaint about the temperature seriously. One of them jokingly told me to put on another blanket. The next day, though, the staff meant well and found a way to improve things.

A good range at breakfast, with options for different tastes. The place is exceptionally clean, and the staff are very welcoming and kind. Great value for money.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and there's a welcoming lounge. Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. This is a fairly new, high-end budget hotel near the A1 freeway. The 24-hour bar is handy, and the breakfast buffet is OK and included. Pets are allowed for a 25€ fee, and parking costs 5€.

For the price, the included breakfast and parking are incredible, and the staff were really nice. The shared spaces are pleasant too, with a hotel bar. The rooms aren't big, which is what I'd expect at this rate, but they're well equipped: AC, a nice bathroom, good Wi-Fi, a modern smart TV with built-in Chromecast, and both USB-C and USB-A outlets. Everything felt fresh and clean, like it had just been built. I think it's very good value and exceeded my expectations. In many ways it feels like a 4-star hotel, though there might be no minibar in the room and breakfast isn't huge.
