Gästehaus Ehringhausen 63 (Anno 1719)

The Karl apartment is clean, with rustic furnishings, a roomy bedroom for two, a good-sized dining space, and a large living room with a TV. The small kitchen has what you need, and the free Wi-Fi was fast. I could only hear the host family faintly, and otherwise didn't meet them. Getting in was straightforward with the code for the key safe on the outside door. A few things to know: the apartment is on the second floor under the roof, reached by a very steep wooden staircase and an unusual entrance. I wouldn't recommend that access for anyone with mobility issues or unsteady footing. The large bathroom has a tub but no shower, set under the sloping ceiling, so I couldn't stand upright in it. The toilet is in the bathroom too.

We weren't happy with Apartment Karl and left two days early. The stairs are poor, the bedsheets had stains, and there was no cutlery, just two glass cups and three plates. There's no parking, only space for two cars downstairs. Aldi is a 3-kilometer drive away, Solingen 5.5 kilometers, and Remscheid 3.2 kilometers. The courtyard is the only child-friendly spot, and kids can use a key to get in with their bikes and play, though the neighbors are really nice. We booked Pauline but were given a key from Karl. If you book Sofia and end up getting the key from Karl, ask the neighbors. These were all the reviews for Apartment Karl.

We had such a nice three days here. The rooms were spotless, the service was very friendly, and the little house is lovely, with really charming holiday rooms. We traveled here by bicycle and really enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. Ehringhausen 63 Guesthouse was a pleasant place to stay, and we'd happily recommend it. I was very satisfied, and thanks for the nice stay. The guesthouse, built in 1719, is in Remscheid, 11 km from Wuppertal, with a restaurant next door and free Wi-Fi. Rooms have a sofa, sitting area, satellite flat-screen TV, dining space, and a well-equipped kitchen. There is also a private bathroom with a hairdryer, plus a refrigerator, stovetop, kettle, coffee machine, and parking.
