ONNO Boutique Hotel & Apartments

I loved the atmosphere here, and the paintings on the floors are great. The staff were friendly, the service excellent, and I had a first-class stay. Breakfast was first-class too, with great beer on tap and everything spitze. There’s an interesting local history museum attached, and the attached pub, the Kneipe, is a must visit. The location is great, close to all attractions and plenty of good places to walk to. This was the highlight of my Deutschlandurlaub. It was a pleasure staying here, and I’ll be back. Ingo

We love staying here, and I can’t remember how many times we’ve stopped over the years on our way to or from Sweden. This time, for the first time, we arrived late and picked up the keys from the safe after 22.00, when reception was closed. There was a problem with the room and we couldn’t use it as it was. One call to the night staff and someone arrived within five minutes, sorting it out a few minutes later. Even when there’s a small hiccup, Onno’s staff come to the rescue with a smile and an apology for the inconvenience. Keep being just as you are, Onno and staff. We love it here! Moin, Moin!

This is a lovely little hotel, and the breakfast is excellent. It’s better than what I’ve had at most 4- or 5-star hotels overseas, although it can get cramped and you may have to share a table. Laundry is available for 5 euro per bag, which is really helpful. I had problems with reception and payments, though. When I extended my stay, the website price was 80 per night but reception charged me 89. I then booked three nights online and was charged twice for the same booking. Luckily I get instant credit card alerts, so I noticed. They arranged a refund as soon as I brought it up, but didn’t apologize at all. I don’t think that’s acceptable. Reception staff need better training on bookings and payments. A lovely hotel that needs to improve its customer service skills.

The courtyard has a charming feel, and we really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was great and the staff lovely. Getting a drink could be a little tricky, since you sometimes have to go find the barman, but he’s charming, so it’s worth the effort. We were much happier after upgrading our room. We hadn’t liked the sad room under the roof of the old building. We’ll definitely stay here again if we come to NordArt in '25.
