Hotel Württemberger Hof

The breakfast and the people really made this place for us. The spread was great, and even after trying at least five kinds of coffee in France, we still haven't found one as good as the coffee here. Everyone we met on staff was welcoming and nice, and we had pleasant conversations with other guests at breakfast. The hotel was extremely clean, and we thought the bathrooms looked newly refinished. Our shower did leak all over the floor because I didn't close the door properly. I had no idea it would leak so much, and wrung out a towel five times to soak it up, so make sure the door is shut. The building looks plain outside but has a unique interior with lots of wood. You can hear the neighbors, though ours were very quiet and respectful, and I hope we were too. There's a small elevator that worked the whole time except at checkout, when I had to carry my especially heavy luggage down the stairs. We stayed two nights to meet family and booked two triple rooms through Expedia for the extra seating. We prepaid, but were given two double rooms instead, which cost about $40 less than the triple rooms. We didn't complain, but asked for a refund when we left, and they agreed after deducting $7 a day for parking. The hotel is right across from the local train and within walking distance of Wilhelm Street, with its shops, coffee shops, and pharmacies. Denns Bio Markt is a couple of blocks away for organic groceries and other things to take home. I'd absolutely recommend staying here and would like to come back.

I stayed for more than a month and really enjoyed it. The hotel is close to the train and bus stand, and the breakfast buffet is great. As an Indian, I was glad to find an Indian food restaurant just behind the hotel.

The service was friendly, and breakfast had a nice range of European-style options. Our twin room was split by a wall and had two TVs. It was clean and comfortable, with air conditioning, parking out front, and a good bathroom with a separate shower area.

Being right by the central train station is handy, and the staff were polite and helpful. There are parking spaces in front, plus free Wi-Fi and towels. Breakfast is a small spread with cheese, ham, fruit, sausage, and eggs. The old building does show its age: the floors squeak, and with the window open, people and trains outside can be inconveniently loud. Aside from that, it was good accommodation. The hotel has a traditional, old-fashioned feel.
