I haven’t stayed at the hotel, so my five stars are for the restaurant. I had what was probably the best steak of my life, and the service was excellent. As usual in Germany, they also brought a bowl of water for our little border collie.

Our stay was awful. The man at reception was quite rude, even though our booking already included our two children and baby. The carpets in the hotel and room were horribly dirty, with large stains, and the sheets had dust and marks on them. There was no soap, dust was everywhere, and we even found a blood stain on the bathroom wall, probably left by a previous female guest. Lamps were missing from the ceiling. One woman on staff was genuinely kind, and she seemed annoyed by some of the things going on there too. We take road trips every year and have stayed in many hotels, but we’ve never experienced anything like this. Please stay away.

The place has really gone downhill since last year. The meat was okay, but undercooked, service was extremely slow, and the quality has dropped a lot. It used to be a great place to eat. I wouldn’t recommend it now.
