The food is the reason I’ll keep coming back. It’s professional cooking, with well put together menus and dishes that are really good value, even though it isn’t cheap. The two senior ladies who served us were friendly and knew when to check in and when to give us space. I just wish the dining rooms matched the food: the table tops are fine, but the outdoor and front rooms are neither charmingly old fashioned nor stylishly modern. The chef could come out to each table too. Be proud, like the French... oops, there I go again! Finally, a restaurant in Germany that doesn’t leave me wishing I were in France, Italy, Greece or Spain. I’m German/Australian.

I came back after more than a year and was pleasantly surprised all over again. The food is delicious, the service outstanding, and the staff very welcoming. Such a beautiful getaway from Berlin. Well done!

We didn’t stay at the hotel, but if this is the sort of food they serve there, it’s well worth trying. Everything was absolutely delicious, made with excellent seasonal and local ingredients. The dishes were carefully prepared, and the atmosphere was warm and friendly without being pretentious. There was no English menu and nobody spoke English here, or within a ten mile radius, but the service was still terrific. Highly recommended, and worth the price.
