Schloßhotel Eggersberg

The views, rooms, food, and host couple all made for a wonderful stay. It's worth the extra drive, however long it is. Thank you so much to the hosts!

We've stayed in quite a few castle hotels around Europe, and Schloss Eggersberg, a family-run hotel, has been one of our best experiences so far. The exterior is beautiful, while inside the castle is exceptionally well preserved and full of charm. Our Renaissance room was huge and tastefully decorated, with a lovely lounge area in the tower and stunning views of the surrounding forest and canal. Service was truly exceptional. A flight delay and traffic from Frankfurt meant we arrived close to 11 pm, nearly three hours later than planned. Mrs. Schwarz stayed up for us and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was the best we've had in all our extensive travels around Europe. Its fine cheeses, prosciutto, salami, ham, and fruit selection was unmatched by other five-star hotels we've tried. We also had dinner there twice and really enjoyed dining in the garden among the forest. The castle is near the autobahn and just 30 minutes from Ingolstadt. We'll definitely return whenever we're in the area.

I felt at home right away. The castle is impeccable and the food exquisite. This is the most amazing place I've ever stayed.

I've been there twice, for my best friend's wedding and 50th birthday, and both visits were amazing. The hotel is grand, old, and authentic. You should stay there.
