Hotel Eulenspiegel

The location worked especially well for walking the dogs, with the Elbe close by and the train station just next door. A friendly donkey greets you at the hotel, too. The rooms were excellent, clean and well kept, and we’d gladly stay again.

There’s plenty for families here, including rooms with a double bed and two bunk beds, plus a pony and donkey outside that children will enjoy. The only snag during our stay was ongoing construction in parts of the hotel, so breakfast wasn’t being served there. A bistro a few hundred meters away at the station has breakfast instead. Hotel Eulenspiegel is right by the train station, yet the soundproofing kept passing trains from bothering us. The rooms and the rest of the family-run hotel are comfortable, with good beds, mattresses, pillows and blankets. The furnishings have an antique-shop feel, which didn’t hurt the atmosphere at all. It felt homey, and the welcome and personal service were very warm. Once the work is finished, this should be a very good place for travelers and families.

A good motel for people on the road. The rooms are tidy and well cared for, and the reception team is very welcoming.

The trains can be noisy because the hotel is so close to the station, so anyone sensitive to sound may need to keep the windows shut. Even so, it’s a fantastic and genuinely unusual place, with its own style. Some things are still being built, including the breakfast area, and you need to be open to that unconventional approach.
