Berggasthof Hotel Weingarten

The Schnitzel is well worth ordering. My friends enjoyed the vegetarian dishes, and we ordered extra fries because they were so good and we were hungry. The service was very good, even with our larger group, and parking was good too. There’s a wonderful scenic view, and the children will love the playground.

The restaurant is excellent, and we recommend the Saibling fillet, which we think is trout. The waitresses speak English if you need it. This is a lovely little hotel, with large, comfortable, very clean rooms. The lake-facing rooms have spectacular balcony or terrace views. Nights are quiet after the restaurant closes.

The hotel is very quiet and feels like a little heaven for a vacation, while still being close enough to Chiemsee lake and the city by car. Everyone here is so nice to guests, always smiling. We’ll come back again.

The view is breathtaking, and that's the only reason this gets a star from me. The entrance hallway smelled strongly of urine, and the bathrooms were worse, with no toilet paper or soap. The stench was awful, like the dirtiest public restroom at a train station, where people at least try to cover it up. As for the food, the pork was badly overcooked, the fries and fish seemed frozen, and the schnitzel coating was soggy. That's shameful for a restaurant with a Michelin star. I can't understand how it earned one. This place was horrific, and I won't ever come back. The owners should be ashamed.
