The house is older, so it isn't very quiet. You can hear the guests upstairs walking around. There's a large terrace or balcony with cozy little touches, and each apartment has two carport parking spaces. We stayed in the lower of the house's two apartments. The stairs to the upper one are a bit steep. Mrs. Hog was very friendly, showed us around at check-in, and explained things about our stay. The apartment was clean, tidy, and cozy, with small thoughtful details. There was a cleaning product smell in every room. My husband disliked it, though my son and I were less bothered. The beds were comfortable, but the duvets were summer weight. If you like to sleep warmer, bring an extra blanket. There are two wool blankets, though they're more suited to mild summer evenings. The kitchen had enough supplies. A folder had tips, apartment details, the Wi-Fi password, and excursion ideas. Rules and information were posted or displayed in nearly every room, starting at the front door. Each guest gets one hand towel and one bath towel. You can borrow a bath towel if you forget yours for the pool or Rulantica. Booking.com says there are toiletries in the bathroom, but there aren't. There's only hand soap by the pool. One thing to be aware of when booking: you're charged for at least three nights, even if you can only book two nights and the apartment is rented again right away. In that situation, the apartment earns twice as much. The landlord and Booking.com should make this clear.

A really lovely family, and an old house furnished with a lot of care. Great value for money and highly recommended.

The house is very noisy, and you can hear every step from the guests upstairs, so pack earplugs for sleeping. Even so, we had a fantastic four day stay with the Hog family, who gave us a very warm welcome. The apartment was the cleanest and best equipped vacation rental we've stayed in, and we usually stay in about two each year. The value for money was outstanding. They even surprised me with fresh rolls at the door in the morning for my birthday. Thank you again! The apartment is also really well located for Europa-Park, Strasbourg, Freiburg, and lots of other places in the Black Forest. Warm wishes to Ringsheim from the far north!

We were after affordable lodging near Rulantica and Europa-Park, and found exactly that here. The hostess welcomed us warmly, and the apartment was spotless with everything we needed. We especially liked the decor and furnishings, which felt thoughtfully put together instead of mismatched. If we need a vacation rental in the area again, this will be our first choice.
