The night receptionist was great, but we had a bad experience with the cleaning staff. When we tried to complain at reception in the morning, the response was: ‘It’s not my problem if we lose customers, I’m not the owner.’

At first the price seemed good and everything looked okay. But on the first morning, 28.4.25, I woke up to find a dead bedbug in the bed. I later counted 20 bites on myself, each about the size of a cherry. After I reported it, they changed my room, but only because I insisted. Nobody even apologized. The second room was a little better. I didn’t find bedbugs there, but it still wasn’t clean, as the photo shows. I was staying with a large group, and as far as I know, nobody else reported bedbugs. Still, check the beds carefully before unpacking your bags. I hope I haven’t brought any bugs home.

I ended up at this terrible hotel because Lufthansa canceled my flight. It’s awful and very old, and the staff were arrogant. We arrived without our bags because the airport wouldn’t let us check in again, so we had no clean clothes or toothbrushes. The hotel didn’t have a kit either. The next morning we asked for a taxi back to the airport, and the man at reception spoke to us very rudely.

I stayed here because my airline gave me a hotel voucher. The room was very simple, with dated furniture. It was a no-nonsense place, which I appreciated. Check-in was just handing over the voucher and getting a key, and they didn’t even ask for my details. Check-out was the same. I felt safe walking around the mostly residential area. There was an Indian restaurant and Lea’s, where I got a massage, both within a 20-minute walk. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport, so keep that in mind if you need to go back the next day and arrange your taxi.

It’s clean, quiet, and pet friendly. My dog wasn’t charged for in the end, after I showed the hotel its stated policy. When I booked online, it said there’d be no extra pet fee, but 30 minutes later the hotel privately messaged me asking for 20E per night. I found that a bit shady. The bed lamp didn’t work, there weren’t any kids’ TV channels, and reception staff could barely understand English. Also, why put religious books in the rooms? There was a New Testament. It didn’t bother me, but it’s the first place I’ve seen that.
