The rooms had dust and mold, and the internet kept failing. Under the beds, there was dust and guests’ internet receipts with passwords dating back to August, which made it look as if that area hadn’t been cleaned for more than four months. At 06:30 am, a false fire alarm went off. Staff seemed unsure what to do, and even the receptionist didn’t know where the fire control panel was. The alarm kept sounding for 10-15 minutes until an engineering employee came to reset it. I told the manager that the corridor fire door didn’t close automatically and the ventilation didn’t work during the alarm, which could have put people at risk from smoke in a real fire. He turned his back before I’d finished and said, “Don’t waste my time.” There was no apology or compensation for the inconvenience. It’s sad to see such a beautiful property run by management that acted so unprofessionally.

Breakfast was generous and arrived without a wait. The two of us shared one serving of eggs, a bread roll with butter, and coffee with milk. Everything was fresh and tasted great, especially the crispy roll. The tables and utensils were clean, and the woman serving us was nice. Our room was clean and very nice for the price. Check-in was quick, and the kind, helpful woman at reception spoke English well, so communication was easy. It was a good stay. Thanks to the staff for working hard over Easter and helping make the highway safer with their service.

We’ve stopped here on each of our last four trips, and it’s a good place to pause when travelling with kids. The toilets are being renovated at the moment, though, and there weren’t any other stations to change diapers, which was disappointing. The service staff also seem to have changed, and communication was a bit tricky since they weren’t fluent in German or English.

There wasn’t really anything we disliked. Even right beside the highway, the room was very quiet, clean, simple, and modern. Check-in was quick and easy, and parking was close to the entrance. Good value for a hotel stop on a long drive.
