Hotel San Gabriele

The monastery feel runs through the whole hotel, which looks nothing like an ordinary one. I was drawn in by the pictures before booking, and the wood-filled rooms are cosy if that’s your thing. Both the room and bathroom were very clean. The lighting is a little dim, but it was enough for me. There’s also a small fridge or bar and a TV. Breakfast had plenty of options, and I found everything I wanted. Dinner at the restaurant was very tasty, the service was very good, and the staff at reception, breakfast, and the restaurant were all friendly. I’d gladly come back.

We had a great overnight stay. The hotel was amazing, and we loved being there.

The hotel’s medieval style gives it a distinctive feel, and it’s close to a mall for food, shopping, or a chance to stretch your legs. That makes it a handy stopover, especially if you’re passing through. The main downside is that there’s no air conditioning, which could make a warm-weather stay uncomfortable and affect your sleep. It may suit you best if convenience and the unusual atmosphere matter more than climate control, particularly in cooler weather.

The glass art is amazing, and the metal and plaster work are great too. We stayed here as a stop before heading to Austria for two days to beat the crowds. From there, we had three hours of driving left and didn’t hit any traffic jams.
