Ferienwohnanlage Brückner

We stayed in the annex from July 7th to July 19th, 2018, for 12 nights. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable in a holiday apartment, and I wouldn’t go back. The place was clean, but there were huge cobwebs on the ceilings, and the garden was strewn with laundry throughout our stay, some of it apparently washed and dried three times. There was a carpet in the hall, but no vacuum cleaner. I didn’t contact Mrs. Brückner again because I thought there was no point. The bathroom was only about 2 square meters. With the sloping ceiling, which ranged from 1.40m to 2m high, only half the area counted as living space. If you’re over 1.65m, you have to hunch to see yourself in the mirror. There were also three steps between two rooms, a real obstacle at night, especially if you’re not used to them. The washing machine was missing its detergent drawer. The cleaner said Brückner had told her to remove it and leave it in the cupboard in the garden. Parking on the property cost another €36, which felt outrageous. We paid the tourist tax in advance, but Brückner didn’t fill in the tax booklet, so I’ll be asking for proof it was paid. Two days after we arrived, I phoned Mrs. Brückner and was told, in an accusing tone, that we deserved a holiday too and were in Portugal. Mrs. Brückner, you had a contract with us for a considerable amount of money, and your personal feelings mean nothing to me. The cleaner was pressing her face against the window at 9 a.m. on Sunday, apparently checking whether we were there. Our car was parked only a meter from that window. It really couldn’t have been worse. I hope you and your husband at least enjoyed Portugal. Goodbye for good. Simply awful, minus 5 stars.

We had a really nice stay, and the beach is nearby. The apartment had everything our small family needed, and it suited us perfectly. I’d happily recommend it.

We thought our family’s short stay for Hanse Sail was settled, but the cancellation left us having to plan the holiday all over again. We booked two nights through Booking.com for the August 2017 weekend, at a price of €475. Two and a half months later, Booking.com told us the reservation had been cancelled, without giving any reason. After that, the accommodation appeared again on the site for €1020, with a five-night minimum. Since we only wanted two nights, that wasn’t useful to us. Given how questionable the cancellation was, we can’t recommend this provider.

It’s a small apartment, but it has the essentials. The landlords were warm and accommodating, and we’ll definitely return. Many thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Brückner.
