Hotel Fischerhus

There isn't much of a hotel atmosphere here: no wellness area, bar, or comfortable lobby, and it feels more like a hostel. It does the basic job of giving you somewhere to sleep. The rooms are quite rustic, and sometimes it seems they have cut back on amenities. We skipped breakfast because nearly €20 per person felt too expensive. On our departure day, reception was closed in the afternoon, so we had to put our bags in lockers at the train station. People with disabilities shouldn't choose this place.

The location in Warnemünde is very good, but the apartment wasn't worth the price. I never checked in because reception was closed and nobody answered the phone to clear things up. Thankfully I had my camper. The room was apparently meant for four, but at 1.91 m tall I already struggled on the narrow, low stairs. The attic was very hot, and the bathroom window was broken and screwed shut, so it couldn't be opened.

It's a small family-run hotel with very friendly staff. Breakfast was okay, though the coffee drinks could have had more variety. The room was a different story: the bathroom and toilet were dirty when we arrived, and weren't cleaned until the third day after we asked several times. The little fridge was filthy and never got cleaned, and there was plenty of dirt under the bed. I wouldn't stay here again.

Breakfast was okay, but the apartment itself was a letdown. The website photos give the wrong impression; what we got was closer to youth hostel standard, dated and shabby. The bed sags, and from it you look down at a cheap kitchenette and a humming fridge. There was a nail sticking out of the cupboard. The fridge had no drinks rack, there were no glasses stacked together or wine glasses, and some of the cheapest pots were aluminum. There wasn't a comfortable chair or sofa either. We paid €500 for three nights.
