Hotel Rittmeister

The spa is lovely, and the hotel itself is beautiful, a real gem in the neighborhood. It was clearly renovated recently, and the room and linens were clean when we arrived, though daily room service could have been better. The room was missing a few things: no USB ports anywhere, and only a 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash in the shower, with no conditioner or other toiletries. Bring your own. The bed was very firm, though that comes down to personal preference.

The staff were very friendly and tried to sort out the problems in our room. Breakfast was tasty, varied, and fairly priced. Cleanliness was a letdown, though: the first room had dirty decorative pillows, and after we were upgraded because of the issues, the second room had dust on the top shelf. Smoking is allowed in open common areas like hallways and balconies, and the smell gets into the room.

I needed a room at the last minute on 5 August 2025 after my plans changed, and the owners were gracious in every way. Super nice place and super friendly staff. Thanks, and keep up the good work!

The staff were consistently friendly, competent, and courteous, and check-in and checkout were easy. The breakfast buffet was excellent, well beyond what I expected for both variety and quality, and the cuisine was very good, with typical as well as international dishes. It’s a charming, modern small country hotel, very well run, with interesting architecture in quiet, green surroundings. The spa area wasn’t much use during our stay for technical reasons, so we couldn’t get a sense of it. The owner said the problem would be fixed soon. All in all, a real insider tip and a very pleasant experience. We’d gladly come again.
