Residenz am Strande

The location is sensational, but the price and condition left us utterly disappointed. We picked this hotel to finish our Baltic Sea New Year's trip, and any chance to relax disappeared right away. They sent us from the Stolteraa to the Residenz, where an employee seemed to have forgotten all the important details of our stay and acted as if we'd disturbed him. We had to use the side entrance to get to the "pleasure." The "apartment" was badly run down and smelled musty. The windows leaked, the bathroom was moldy in every corner, the rusty toilet paper holder mentioned earlier was still there, and the kitchen was disgusting. The previous guest's belongings had also been left behind or discarded. Despite the website saying otherwise for the off-season, they charged €55 for final cleaning. When we raised it, we were told that's how it is and that the computer system said the same. We got that same delightful manner at both hotels. Breakfast was unacceptable for the price category. It was well stocked at first, but there were no refills after 10:00 AM. A pot of coffee was put on the table, and any other coffee request cost extra. I'll spare the rest, there's too much to list. Here are a few impressions of the lovingly maintained apartment we were allowed to stay in.

We paid €240 a night plus a €55 cleaning fee. For that fee, nothing was cleaned, they only made the beds.

The rooms are large and look out over the park, but the interior is badly in need of renovation. If you don't need a perfectly furnished room, the holiday apartment Bornholm is fine for a short stay. The photos speak for themselves...

The location is excellent, right on the beach, and the rooms are laid out well. But cleanliness was poor, especially in the bathroom and shower and in the kitchen. The Wi-Fi was a disaster.
