The hotel is in a good spot, with lots of food and drink options nearby. The shower had hot water and felt refreshing. But noise from the street was very loud, and the sheets and pillows were uncomfortable. There was no way to cool the room, which became stuffy and too warm unless we opened the window. With it open, we could hear tourists drunkenly screaming outside. The Wi-Fi had no password and painfully slow speeds. There was no lock on the inside of the room. A little button seemed to do nothing, and there was no way to put up a 'Do not disturb' sign. Housekeeping opened my door while knocking, when I was still in bed trying to sleep. It left me feeling exposed and uncomfortable. The hotel entrance is low, so it's easy to hit your head going in or out. There's no elevator, which means carrying luggage up several flights of stairs.

The worst stay of our whole trip. There was no elevator, so we had to carry our luggage up to every floor, and there was no support or anyone available to help. The coffee shop is separate from the hotel. I'm glad we left early. Avoid this place at all costs.

My wife and I spent a weekend here, and it was just right for us. It's a family-run hotel with eight rooms, close to the city center. One side looks out over the cobblestone streets of Rothenberg, the other over the beautiful Tauber valley. The rooms are typical German style, with a small but functional bathroom and a very comfortable bed. There’s no air conditioning, as in most German hotels, but it cools down after sunset. We always travel with a fan. There's a nice little restaurant on the ground floor, open all day, and a pub just down the street for a beer or cocktail. I definitely recommend it, and we'd stay here again next time we visit Rothenberg.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location inside the walls was great, and it was a short walk to where they hold the nightly tours. We had a single queen room with a nice European feel. The only thing missing for us was a mini fridge for our Hefeweisen. There’s a burger place downstairs under the rooms. We didn't eat there, but the prices looked good. Parking costs extra, either at the meter or in the hotel's space. The burger joint doubles as reception, where we checked in and got a key for the front entrance, hallway door, and our room. They spoke broken English, but we understood most of what was said.

A cute little room in a magical location, just behind the famous photo spot and a few blocks from the town square. The people who own the superb burger place downstairs also run the reception there. It was a little confusing at first, but once we figured it out, they were super nice. :)
