A year after our stay, my husband and I still talk about this hotel. Otto made a lasting impression by being so kind. One night we arrived with takeout, and he brought us upstairs to the kitchen so we could get plates and utensils. Our room was beautiful and homey, and I loved the charming touch of an actual key instead of a plastic card. We’ll absolutely stay here again when we return to Germany.

We had a wonderful three-day visit. Room #1 was fantastic, very large by European hotel standards, and opened onto a garden right on the wall. Otto’s father, who works at the front desk, was a delightful older gentleman to talk with and very helpful. The hotel across the street belongs to the same owner and is a must-stop for a glass of wine or beer. We loved our stay and highly recommend it for a visit to Rothenburg. There’s also a parking garage right next to the hotel.

Room #1 on the ground floor was huge, with a back door out to a quiet courtyard. The bed creaked and the pillow was lumpy, which were the only real downsides for us. The owner is a very kind, helpful gentleman, and the breakfast buffet was amazing, with great coffee. The hotel itself is stunning and absolutely beautiful. The location was perfect for exploring Rothenburg, and we loved it there.

We stayed with family over Christmas, and Otto, the host, is a walking Legend. The rooms had period character, breakfast came with a spectacular view, and the location was wonderfully quiet. Everything felt classy and quaint, and the service was impeccable.

The location is lovely, right beside the city wall with a nice view, and the centre is only about a five-minute walk away. We’d definitely recommend it. It was one of the best experiences we’ve had. The interior is classic, and the 86-year-old receptionist is actually the owner’s dad. He was kind, helpful and gentle, and the whole place felt like coming home.
