Hotel Schwarzer Adler

We had a big room with one bed, and it was all very clean. There were plenty of towels, which was nice, and the bed was super comfortable. The hotel is cozy and right in the heart of town, with a great price. Check-in staff were friendly, and they let us leave our bags in the lobby after checking out so we could explore a bit longer.

The room was quite small, but for the price it was a great choice, especially for just one night. It was the most economical option inside the old walled city, and I don’t regret booking it. There’s no air conditioning, though they provided a fan and the windows open wide. The staff were courteous and helpful, and the location is hard to beat.

We were mostly satisfied with the stay. The location was quiet and central, late check-in worked perfectly, and we got a friendly welcome. We parked at P5, which was cheap and just a few minutes away on foot. The room was clean, with a kettle and a standing air conditioner, and the beds had new, really comfortable mattresses. The shower doors had a lot of limescale, though, which didn’t feel clean enough for a hotel. Our room, number 23, was above the Indian restaurant’s air outlet. We’d left a window open because the room felt damp, and all our clothes ended up smelling like Indian food. Honestly, that wasn’t great.

The owners, who I think are from India, were accommodating and helped us with everything, especially when we arrived for a very late check-in. The hotel is nice, though the rooms have modest furnishings. Getting to the upper floors means using narrow stairs and narrow corridors.
