The rooms are simply equipped and furnished well enough, and they're absolutely fine for the price. The farm is in a quiet, secluded spot, great for relaxing or walking in the woods. Its family owners are very friendly and accommodating. Nearby places to visit include the outdoor swimming pool and castle in Falkenstein, the Höllbach Valley, and plenty more. I'd definitely return if a room is available :)

We tried raising the problems with the landlords when we left, but they were very uncooperative and had an excuse for everything. They pointed us to the online reviews and said nobody had complained before. They wouldn't offer a discount, and only sent an invoice after we asked. You can imagine why. We can't recommend this place. Two weeks before our trip, we were told there were cows in the barn, just as the website advertised. But when we arrived, there were no cows. The family had given up the farm and hadn't thought to tell us about that major change. That's a real shame, since the full cowshed was the main reason we'd chosen the accommodation. The old furnishings weren't a problem by themselves, but the dirt and mold were unacceptable. The refrigerator had mold and grime left by previous guests, and their glass was still in the kitchen. The mirrored bathroom cabinet was full of dirt and dust that clearly hadn't built up just over the last four weeks. The wardrobes were dusty too, so we didn't want to unpack. Never again. All in all, at least now I know why I got herpes on vacation.

The children had a great time, especially with the chickens, cats, and tractor rides. Everything was very clean and had what we needed. The hosts were lovely. Thanks again for everything, we had such a nice stay!

The tractor ride is always a big hit with the kids, and the hosts are really friendly and take their time with it. We come to Gfällhof often with our young children. The hosts have stopped keeping animals, but there’s still lots of space on the large farm for the children to run around. With the forest close by and all those open fields, they get so creative and usually end up completely worn out.
