The restaurant was shut, and when we got to the hotel by bike, the door wouldn't open even though we'd been given an access code. It had been locked from inside. We called the owner several times but couldn't get through, so we had to carry on cycling and find somewhere else to stay. We'd booked one night in August. The owner called back around 8 pm and explained that his cleaning lady had locked the door from inside. He said he'd refund the €85 cancellation fee, but never did. After we called again, all we got was an excuse. They took our money without providing any service. Disgusting. Absolutely unacceptable, and I can't recommend it.

We were able to set off toward Schwerin refreshed the next morning after a generous, tasty dinner and breakfast. My wife and I stayed at the Storchenkrug during our 14-day cycling tour. The apartment was clean and in excellent condition, and the innkeeper was very friendly.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. We liked the peaceful setting and all the storks, and the breakfast was fantastic. This was our second stay at the Storchenkrug, and we'd happily recommend it. There isn't a supermarket in the village, but you can get a good breakfast and dinner at the Storchenkrug if you ask.

The Elbe River is only a few meters away, with great hiking trails nearby. We felt really comfortable at the "Storchenkrug". If you want peace and a chance to relax, this country hotel is a great choice. They really treat their guests like royalty, and I wholeheartedly recommend it! 👑
