We were five people staying two nights, and the room was much better than I'd expected: clean, nicely decorated, bright with sunlight, and spacious. The beds were comfortable, the neighbors were considerate, and we had no trouble sleeping. Downstairs there was a double bed, with stairs up to three single beds. We also had a kitchen, a table and chairs, and a big bathroom with a sink where two people could brush their teeth at once. Gastehaus Milella is a handy place for families visiting Europa-Park, about a five-minute walk away. There's a small playground for children, and you can swim on hot days or even when it's cold. They also have a very cute dog. The owner lets guests know about the dog, which is helpful if someone has allergies or doesn't like animals. It's friendly, calm, and well behaved, and children can pet it without worry. I petted it a lot, though most of the time it was daydreaming or wandering around. The owner was great to communicate with by email, replying within 24 hours when she wasn't busy. After we booked, she asked when we'd arrive and gave us her number in case anything happened. We hit an unexpected traffic jam on the way to Rust and called to say we'd be late for check-in. She was very friendly and said it was no problem. We arrived 30 minutes late at the big, light-yellow apartment building. There was parking, and the entrance to the house and reception was at the far left of the parking area. The door was locked, but when we rang the bell, a woman opened it right away with a big smile. I can't remember the owner's name, but she was considerate, understanding, and helpful. She asked about our journey and told us about the change in Europa-Park's opening hours, where the restaurants were, and other useful things. Then she showed us to our room. We started the first day with the simple but fresh breakfast buffet: boiled eggs, butter, bread, milk, coffee, juice, cereal, oatmeal, muffins, jam, cheese, ham, and fruit. Coffee lovers like me can take a thermos and get it refilled when it's empty. It felt like a classic B&B breakfast, and I really liked it. If you want something different in the morning, you can eat at nearby restaurants or cook in the reasonably well-equipped kitchen, which had forks, dishes, knives, pans, and a microwave. There's a grocery store near Europa Park, but it's not really within walking distance, so I'd take a bicycle or car. There's also a bakery nearby, easy to spot if you find a bank. I'll definitely stay at Gastehaus Milella again when I return to Europa-Park or visit the Black Forest! (Based on what I posted in my TripAdvisor review)

We come here four times a year. It's very family-friendly, with thoughtful, loving decor, and the owner and staff are always friendly and courteous.
