Hotel 2050

The room was a pleasant surprise: my twin room was spacious and very quiet, with comfortable beds, a nice smell, no humidity, wooden flooring, curtains that blocked the light, air conditioning, WiFi, and a TV with German and some international channels. The bathroom was roomy too, with a walk-in shower and plenty of water pressure. Breakfast was a smaller buffet, but thoughtfully put together, with good-quality food and made-to-order eggs that were great. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic, and everyone I met spoke English. There's also an honor bar in the corridor with local beers, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks. The building is from 2016 and sits in a small industrial park near the autobahn. From outside it looks like a familiar chain hotel, but inside I liked the eco-friendly construction and natural wood decor. There's outdoor parking with no height limit and a couple of electric car chargers. A service station and Burger King are close by. A little farther along is a lovely restaurant in a traditional wooden building serving local and regional food and beer. It's about a seven-minute walk, well worth it, but check its opening days: service runs from 17h30 to about 20h. A fantastic stay, worth the detour.

It's in an industrial area, so things are really quiet at weekends. There are several buses nearby, as well as a Burger King. The front desk staff on both the morning and night shifts were really helpful and friendly.

The rooms are large, clean, and well looked after, especially for what you pay. Breakfast is fresh, clean, and nicely prepared to suit what you ask for. I'd recommend this hotel.

The hotel itself isn't bad, though I found it a little expensive. What put me off was how they handled my colleague's accident on a Monday morning, after he had gone to the hospital. The hotel refused to cancel the reservation under any circumstances. Even after our purchasing department contacted management, they still insisted on almost the full payment for the entire week. I find that an incomprehensible way to treat guests and companies. To me, it puts short-term sales ahead of lasting loyalty. The hotel has lost me, and most of my close colleagues.
