Hotel Asterra

The two staff members were so kind and helpful, always ready to lend a hand. I stayed for 20 days and felt very at home, especially at breakfast. The hotel is simple compared with others in Europe, but it’s clean, welcoming, and cozy. I have only good things to say about this place and recommend it.

Breakfast was plentiful, and the owner welcomed us warmly when we arrived by car. Since we were the only guests, we could keep using the same parking spot. We stayed at Hotel Asterra from March 7th to 9th, 2025. Room 114 was clean and comfortable, with just a little dust here and there, probably from having the window open. The bathroom was roomy and had plenty of storage. We’ll definitely come back!

I had to leave very early, and they kindly left breakfast for me in the fridge. The hostess was serious but welcoming, and let me check in early. It’s a pleasant, quiet place, with a swimming pool nearby to cool off in during the summer heat.

The waiter and the woman serving breakfast were attentive and did a good job. The manager is a bit of a character, though, which is why I’m giving three stars. We were a group of 11 motorcyclists, and the hotel worked out OK for us. It’s an old prefabricated building that’s been renovated well enough. We got a double room to use as a single; the furnishings were sparse, and the bathroom and toilet were quite small. The room was functional but lacked any real charm. Breakfast was good and plentiful, and the half-board meals were decent, well coordinated, and topped up when needed. The hotel is quiet on the edge of town, about 2 km from the center, which was fine for us. It was a little overpriced, but that seems to be the way things are these days.
