B&B HOTEL Saarbrücken-Ost

The hotel was one of the cheapest when I booked, and the staff were really helpful. It sits right by a Line 1 tram stop. I stayed one night while renovations were underway, so the lift wasn't working. I paid extra for the light breakfast, and an early check-in would have cost another 15 euros. I asked for a quiet room, and the receptionist helpfully suggested one that didn't face the road.

The elevator and heating were out during the renovation at B&B Hotel Saarbrücken-Ost, something clearly stated when I booked. Even with those issues, Mr. Kassem handled things in a friendly, very professional way. Great service under the circumstances.

The vending machines only take cash, and there's nowhere to store your things after checkout. There's also no lobby to wait in before check-in or after you've checked out, no washing machine, and the breakfast buffet is limited and not worth the price. I found spiders in the room, too. I had a bad experience with one staff member, a woman aged 50 or older. Checkout is at noon, and she was rude when I was even a little late. I don't know whether she was racist or rude to everyone. If your bus, train, or flight is late, you're on your own with your luggage.

Cars race beneath the window all night, so forget a quiet stay. The rooms look long overdue for updates, with outdated furnishings and stains on the walls. The glass looked as if it had already been used, the shower wasn't cleaned properly, and at face level there was someone's uncleaned snot. I won't take a picture of that. BnB seems to have forgotten that hotels need investment, not just guest money. This is really bad; something needs to change.
