Sunday Saarbruecken Sued Double Room

We stayed twice last week with our coach group from the UK. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and most staff were friendly and professional. The hotel itself was pleasant and perfectly adequate. It’s right beside the former Gestapo camp Neue Bremm memorial, which some rooms face directly. I found it very interesting, though I can see how the setting might feel sombre for some guests. Breakfast was a very different experience. Mrs. Kleber, who was in charge, was repeatedly rude and confrontational with our group and other guests. She shouted at people for picking the “wrong” cup or tongs and accused guests of stealing food. Many in my group were elderly and very polite, which made the way they were treated especially disappointing and unnecessary. The hotel, food, and other staff were all very nice, so it’s a shame that one person’s behaviour at breakfast left such a poor final impression. Management should seriously address it, because it detracts from what would otherwise have been a positive stay.
