The room was cozy, spotless, and had a wonderfully comfortable mattress. Breakfast was a real surprise, delicious and served generously. We stopped here on our drive from Austria to London, travelling as two adults and two children, and needed somewhere to sleep during the day after driving overnight. The hotel worked perfectly for that, and kindly accommodated our requests outside the usual check-in and check-out times. We really valued the flexibility and care, and would recommend it to anyone passing through or needing a comfortable stay.

The hotel has a funky, distinctive feel, with a huge, colorful room and a cozy lobby and breakfast room. I stayed for two nights. Breakfast is vegetarian and vegan only, so keep that in mind. One evening I came back to find my room hadn't been cleaned. It wasn't a big deal since I didn't need fresh towels, and I was leaving the next morning, so I didn't call reception to ask for housekeeping. I'd stay at Hessenland Hotel again.

The balcony on the side of the hotel, looking out toward the city, was a special experience, and breakfast was very good. The place is clean, the staff are friendly, and they try to meet your needs. You get your money's worth. The one drawback is the noise if you sleep with the window tilted open. The hotel can't do much about that, but it could be a real problem if you're sensitive to noise. Everything else was great.

I really liked my stay. The staff were friendly and the lounge space was nice. The dark, spooky corridors have a different kind of style, and the odd fourth floor has a balcony with no doors. I enjoyed it a lot.

We really enjoyed our stay, and I can still recommend the hotel. It's right in the city center, the people were lovely, and breakfast was good. Since it wasn't a buffet, the waitress made sure we had enough. Our room was very hot, so we opened both windows overnight and got fresh air, but the city starts waking up at 5am and the outside noise got us up early. That was handy for starting the day, though we were on holiday and would have liked to sleep in. If noise bothers you, check about it before booking.
