Ferienidylle-Eder

The Eder family made us feel very welcome, and their apartment is a peaceful place to relax. We came for the first time with our two small children and were very happy with the stay. Everything we could need was provided, and the apartment, kitchen, bathroom, and terrace all met our expectations. We’ll definitely come back! 😊 Warm regards from Berlin.

For almost 10 years, we’ve been spending holidays here, and it always feels like coming home. The landlords are super friendly and attentive, and the spacious, clean apartment is quiet and equipped with everything we could need. It’s easy to feel at ease here. We’ll spend many more vacation days in Rettenbach.

Our stay was lovely, and the price felt completely fair for what we got. The apartment was thoughtfully furnished with everything we needed, and when we were missing something, the hosts were very helpful. They welcomed us warmly with coffee and cake, and when a storm came through, they even let us put our mopeds in the garage. It’s rural and quiet, a nice place to unwind from everyday stress. They also pointed out where to shop. A few kilometers away, since this is the countryside, there’s everything from Netto and Rewe to Aldi and Rossmann.

We were glad when we finally left. Although the apartment was spacious, well maintained, relatively inexpensive, and had comprehensive amenities, we didn’t feel comfortable. The landlady was very taciturn and seemed overwhelmed by communication. The heating couldn’t be adjusted by us, since the owners controlled it remotely via Wi-Fi. The decorating was hard to get used to: 90s furniture, garish clashing colors, and so many kitschy decorations that the rooms felt cluttered. The house and grounds had what we felt were overly sentimental sayings about love, joy, and the like, while we seemed to be treated as a nuisance. In the rainy autumn weather, the owners’ old, scruffy cat was kept outside even though it was looking for warmth and affection, while the young cat watched sadly from the window and wasn’t allowed out. The whole atmosphere came across to us as hypocritical and cold.
